Al-Zubaidi Heads the First Session of of the Southern National Assembly in Al-Makla
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Al-Makla – Exclusive[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] [su_dropcap]G[/su_dropcap]eneral Aidarous Kassem Al-Zubaidi, president of the Southern Transitional Council, headed the first session of the second round of the Southern National Assembly held in Al-Makla on Saturday February 16th, 2019, under the slogan of “Restoring Homeland and Building the Federal Independent Civil Southern State”. the round will last for three days with participation of Sheikh Hany Ben Brik, vice president of the council, and members of the council’s presidency.
President Al-Zubaidi delivered a speech expressing his joy for holding this round in Hadhramaut which he described as the land of peace and science and sole of economy.
He said: you are holding the second round of the southern national assembly. We are all responsible for maintaining a suitable degree of representing the will of the southern people as we lived more critical moments when we established this legislative body that is a glory for every southern.
He congratulated the successes that were present in the systematic organizational work that was “clear in the performance of the previous stage”.
He added that the upcoming stage is based on performance and establishing the pillars of democratic organizational transparent work. He said: Our approach is to establish national organizations that work accurately, correctly and transparently.
Addressing the attendants, he said: You are representing the struggle and sacrifices of the glorious southern people. You are representing a history of struggle, patience, hopes and expectations. A history of seeking freedom and partnership.
President Al-Zubaidi indicated that: Hadhramaut suffered a lot from terrorism, just like Aden, Abian, Lahj, Shabwa and every other part in the south. We suffered from political terrorism and extremism. We suffered from extremist thinking that was created to kill our voices and break up our will. But we fought it with all our strength. We succeeded in facing it it and here we are gathering in Al-Makla that was once delivered to Al-Qaeda and Islamic State. but, thank God, they were expelled out of it by cooperation of all southern.
He also indicated: Hadhramauti should restore their territories and secure them as they know it well. Terrorism will never nest here, no matter the costs are. Hadhramauti will sacrifice again for this land as it worth sacrifices.
In addition, he said: The Arab Coalition did a lot in all fields and we should thank them. they helped us facing Al-Houthis. They fought with us against Al-Qaeda and Islamic State. they play major roles in planning, supervision and backup. They played a major role in the humanitarian, economic and services files. In turn, we keep our strategic partnership with the Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia and UAE as we are partners of blood and destiny.
In turn, General Ahmed Said Ben Brik, chairman of the southern transitional council, delivered a speech indicating that holding this round in Hadhramaut is very significant and this round is for supporting citizens of Hadhramaut and Bihan saying: We will never allow enemies of the south to disturb the safety and security of the south.
Ben Brik invited southern members of the expired Yemeni Parliament to join the southern parliament. He asserted that “The south is for us all as southern no matter our differences are”.
He also called for all southern to line up for the benefit of their cause. He indicated that the southern national assembly has and inclusive project for the modern civil state of the south.
President Al-Zubaidi honored Jaffar Mohamed Al-Sakkaf, the southern researcher and historian, for his prominent role in serving the south and southern heritage through scientific and historic research works.
