Major General Ben Brik presides over a meeting of the Southern Dialogue Committee
Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council, Chairman of the National Assembly, Head of the Higher Committee for Dialogue, chaired on Thursday, at the National Assembly’s headquarter in Aden the capital, a meeting of the Southern Dialogue Committee, in the presence of his deputy, lawyer Niran Sooki.
In the meeting, Major General Ben Brik briefed the committee on the results of his meeting with the director of the UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffith, stressing on the importance of continuing the southern dialogue with the southern parties and components outside the Transitional Council, with the aim of creating a southern dialogue to unify all visions towards the upcoming political participation For the future of the south.
Maj. Gen. Ben Brik pointed to the United Nations blessing for the Southern Transitional Council’s call for a comprehensive southern dialogue with all components, including southerners in the government, who their affiliations and identities are to the south.
The meeting stressed on the importance of not hindering the work activity of government institutions that provide services to citizens, such as passports, transportation, and others.
The Chairman of the National Assembly warned of some abusive behaviors that some people undertake in the name of the Southern Transitional Council, stressing that members of the Dialogue Committee should be alert to them.
