Follow up committee to implement outputs of Transitional Council Presidency emergency meeting helds its first meeting in the Office of Aden the Capital

The Follow-up Committee for the implementation of the outcomes of the emergency meeting of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held its first meeting, on Sunday, headed by Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly, at the Governorate Office of Aden the capital, in presence of Major General Salem Abdullah Al-Socotri, Assistant Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, Vice-Chairman of the Committee, and Dr. Abdel Nasser Al-Wali, member of the Presidency of the Council, and the under secretaries of the capital Aden,

In the meeting, Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik welcomed the leadership of the local authority, clarifying to them that the role of the committee is to correct the situation in Aden the capital, and the southern governorates, and to get it out from its bad situation, stressing that it is not a substitute for the existing leadership.

Major General bin Brik stressed on the importance of sending a positive message reflects the care for the capital Aden, and making efforts to restore life to it, after it was systematically destroyed and undergone harsh treatment by successive governments of the so-called legitimacy, and the best evidence of what happened during the recent natural disaster.

Maj. Gen. Bin Brik pointed to the directives of the Leader Commander President Aidaroos Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council, that all capacities and capabilities should be restored to reinstate services in the capital Aden as soon as possible, particularly the electricity and water services, and compensate the people of Aden for what they suffered from during the past period, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan.

In this context, Major General bin Brik directed to undertake urgent field visits to services institutions, particularly the electricity and water institutions, and make a comprehensive assessment of their conditions and identify the necessary needs and the difficulties they are facing, and present it to the chairmanship of the committee to work to provide the needs.

Major General bin Brik also directed the members of the committee to communicate with the deputy director of the central bank, and to search for the appropriate mechanism to pay the salaries of employees in the civil and military sectors, and the mechanisms of supplying funds from voluntary institutions, and the formation of an oversight committee that would submit daily reports in this regard.

Maj. Gen. Ben Brik pointed out that the committees affiliated to the Transitional Council, during the last period, conducted field trips to assess the conditions in most institutions, and went out in an integrated manner on the amount of absurdity and the tremendous corruption experienced by these institutions, stressing that this absurdity will not continue and will account for every palace or official who proves corruption.

Major General bin Brik concluded his speech by affirming that the Southern Transitional Council does not harbor any enemy of the citizens of the northern governorates, in which he directed the concerned parties to go to the camps of the displaced and work to arrange their situation and provide their needs in a way that secures their livelihoods.

For his part, Major General Salem Abdullah Al-Socotri stressed on the importance of finding an organized management through qualified technical cadres and in accordance with a comprehensive plan for stage management, and reassuring the community that there is a representation of various sectors and specialties according to a scientific and institutional basis.

Al-Socotri stressed on the importance of punctuality and actual attendance by the teams and committees that will be formed later to ensure effective performance and achieve the desired goals.

In his turn, the under secretary of Aden the capital, Ahmed Saeed Al-Muflihi, affirmed the full support of the local authority in the capital, Aden, for the contents of the statement issued by the emergency meeting of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, on Saturday, and the decision of emergency and self-administration.

Al-Muflihi called for the necessity of coordination between the local authority and the committees that will be formed, to ensure the smooth flow of work and its integration.

Subsequently, the governorate’s deputy for media affairs, Mohamed Saeed Salem, expressed the local authority’s supporte to the steps and procedures approved by the emergency meeting of the Presidency of the Transitional Council.

The end of the meeting witnessed the presentation of Dr. Abdel Salam Humaid, Advisor to the President of the Southern Transitional Council for Economic Affairs, an integrated image on the economic program to implement self-administration in the southern governorates.

Humaid illustrated that the Economic Committee of the Southern Transitional Council prepared a comprehensive plan that includes the formation of committees to accommodate cadres of the National Assembly, the General Secretariat and local leaderships in the governorates to implement the economic program and achieve the best use of the available resources.
