A technical source who preferred not to reveal his identity revealed the reasons behind the deterioration of electricity power in Aden the capital recently, calling on the concerned authorities, especially the Prime Minister, Dr. Muin Abdul-Malik, the Ministry of Electricity, the General Administration of Electricity, and the Governor of Aden to refer the perpetrators behind this deterioration to investigate with them, and send them to judiciary due to their failure to fulfill their obligations and to exacerbate the suffering of citizens in Aden.

The source pointed out that “there are clear data sufficient to clarify the parties behind the recent deterioration of electricity, explaining that recent days have witnessed a decline in the generating capacity due to the shortage of station fuel, and this problem has been addressed with the efforts of the Prime Minister and with the follow-up of the Governor of Aden, and an adequate stock of diesel was secured,” and with the diesel fuel, it was supposed to follow that effort an improvement in energy, but the situation remained as it was without improvement, but rather the issue increased, which is a surprising act and indicates that there are those who seek to disrupt the efforts of the Prime Minister and the Governor of Aden towards normalization of life and improving services.

The source clarified that “there is a comparison that shows the extent to which a number of government and leased stations have disavowed the required energy according to the stations’ capabilities and according to the lease contracts between the owners of the leased energy and the Ministry of Electricity and the General Electricity Administration, and these facts can be inferred by checking the differences in the daily readings issued by the Department Control of electricity and the percentage of generation varied between the date of 1 to 19 August, calling on the relevant authorities in the government and the local authority to refer those who failed to fulfill their obligations and negligence for investigation, questioning, and punishment.
