Action plan to develop and raise the efficiency of the port of Aden

The governor of the capital, Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, was briefed on the work plan of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in developing and raising the efficiency of the port of Aden.
During his meeting on Monday, with Mr. Aoki Lutsma, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Yemen and his accompanying delegation, the governor praised the quality of the interventions of the United Nations Development Program, especially Aden Port development project and the importance that the project represents in enhancing the port’s work and activating the navigation movement in it.
The Governor of the capital listened from the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Yemen to an explanation about the program’s action plan for implementing the security system development project in the port of Aden, which will start its technical work in this week and will continue for two weeks.
Mr. Lutsma pointed out that the project aims to develop some technical facilities that will work to strengthen the security system and raise its efficiency, and to reduce routine work, which affects the movement of work in the port, which suffers from many problems that reflected itself on the activity and movement of work in it, pointing out that the program experts will start work tomorrow, to submit their report to the Governor, two weeks after the end of the estimated work phase.
The meeting discussed a number of issues related to the port of Aden and that negatively affected its commercial activity, and the steps and procedures that the authorities should urgently address.
It is worth noting that the cost of the project, which also includes the port of Mukalla, is 50 million dollars, funded by the World Bank.
