Lamlas stresses the importance of role of districts’ directors in normalizing life and combating extraneous acts to society

The governor of the capital, Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, stressed the importance of the great role of local authorities in the districts for normalizing life and instilling civic behavior in their societies.
This came in the meeting of the Governor of the capital with directors of the districts and directors of the Public Works Office, Roads, Cleaning, Improvement, Water and Sanitation Fund, in which the Governor Lamlas made it clear that there is a great responsibility on the directors, leaders and members of the local authorities in the districts in combating the anomalous and extraneous acts of Aden community.
During the meeting, Lamlas numbered the acts that require urgent reaction against them, foremost of which are the assault on public property, indiscriminate construction, sabotage of public interests, carrying weapons and firing bullets, promoting, publishing and using contraband, stressing the need for coordination with the security services to carry out security campaigns against the perpetrators of these acts, and to arrest them and hold them accountable.
In his speech, Governor Lamlas touched on the electricity situation and the daily problems that the local authority faces in this aspect, explaining: “Since we received the governorate administration at the end of last August, we have had a problem in providing fuel for power stations, and during that period we have been working to provide electricity fuel in different ways,” expressing thanks to the cooperation of the merchants in their efforts to alleviate this issue.
Lamlas pointed out that “the commercial stock of diesel fuel belonging to merchants has been exhausted by us,” stressing that he will work with all his efforts, along with all the lovers of this city, to overcome this difficult stage of the history of the capital, Aden.
The meeting listened to reports submitted by the general directors on the activities that took place in their districts during the past two weeks, in which they were discussed, and the level of their implementation was assessed, and what was necessary was taken regarding them.
The meeting discussed a number of issues related to the services and financial resources sectors, such as the sewerage problem in Sheikh Othman, and the domestic gas distribution process, the weakness of revenues and ways to enhance and develop them, as well as the problem of the displaced, and taking appropriate procedures in this regard.
