SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL

The General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council held its periodic meeting on Monday, chaired by Mr. Fadl Mohammad Al-Jaadi, Deputy Secretary-General.

The meeting reviewed the statement issued by the meeting of the Presidency of the Council on Sunday, in which the Council denounced the attempts to obstruct the completion of the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement through one-sided decisions by President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, stressing that bypassing the contents of the Riyadh Agreement will only lead to the failure of the government of 50\50 and confusion of the general scene.

The meeting listened to the report of the economic scene, submitted by the Economic Department, which reviewed the most prominent economic issues in the southern arena, most notably the problem of import and trade monopoly at the expense of fair trade competition, as well as the high prices of food commodities and the deterioration of the local currency exchange rate.

The economic report also dealt with the water crisis in the capital, Aden, and corruption in public institutions, and the role that the Central Organization for Control and Accountancy is supposed to play in this regard, in addition to a number of other economic issues.

The meeting touched on the latest political, economic, security and service developments, as well as topics related to the activities of the General Secretariat departments and executive bodies in the governorates, in which proposals were presented in order to support workflow and enhance the service and security aspect in the capital Aden and the southern governorates.
