Vice Chairman of Council’s National Assembly discusses with Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights the violations in South

The member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of the Council, Lawyer Niran Sooki, met on Tuesday in her office in Aden the capital, with Mr. Raynoud Dital, representative of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Yemen.
In the meeting, which included Eng. Nizar Haitham, the member of the Council’s Presidency, Head of the Executive Authority for the Transitional Council of the Capital Aden, Sooki presented a full explanation of the work of the National Assembly, as well as the violations that the southern governorates have been subjected to for many years, the latest of which was the terrorist attack on Aden International Airport that lead to many victims of martyrs and wounded.
Sooki also discussed with the UN representative, a number of issues related to the violations committed in the southern governorates, stressing that the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council pays great attention to the humanitarian aspect in line with the work of international institutions specialized in human rights.
On the same context, Eng. Nizar Haitham touched on the real problem in the southern governorates in general and the capital, Aden in particular, which is the continuous and daily displacement process from the Yemeni governorates to the South, as well as the refugees and illegal immigrants from African countries, which cause many problems in all aspects and in the forefront of which is construction in public spaces, and their making random connections for services.
For his part, Mr. Dital, expressed his thanks and appreciation for the reception and hospitality of the Vice-Chairman of the National Assembly to him, stressing that the work of the Commission is neutral and humanitarian in the first place and does not favor any party to the conflict, praising the organized work carried out by the leadership of the Transitional Council in the field of human rights.
At the end of the meeting, the two parties agreed on to cooperate between them to lift the violations and grievances of citizens in the Southern governorates.
