Al-Khobaji discusses with director of UN envoy’s office latest developments in South and activating peace efforts

The Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council, Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, Dr. Nasser Al-Khobaji, appreciated the great efforts made by the UN envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, aimed at bringing peace to Yemen.
This came upon his reception on Wednesday, at the headquarter of the Southern Transitional Council in Aden the capital, with Mr. Marwan Ezzat Al-Ali, Director of the Office of the United Nations Envoy in Aden, in which he briefed him on the overall economic and service conditions, and the difficult living conditions that citizens suffer from in Aden the capital and in other southern governorates.
The meeting discussed a number of issues related to the efforts of the UN envoy in Yemen and ways to activate them in order to ensure the achievement of tangible results, and touched on the initiative presented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to solve the crisis in Yemen, and to address the humanitarian situation and provide the needs for citizens, and entering into a comprehensive political settlement with the participation of all actors in top of which the Southern Transitional Council.
Dr. Al-Khobaji pointed out that the Southern Transitional Council stresses on the absolute necessity to find urgent solutions to the humanitarian crisis in the southern governorates, to stop the economic collapse, and to put an end to the difficult living conditions the citizens suffer from.
Dr. Al-Khobaji reiterated that the Southern Transitional Council is committed to working to achieve the legitimate aspirations of the southern people, and it is the representative of the people of the south in any negotiations for a comprehensive political solution as stipulated in the Riyadh Agreement.
The two sides agreed on the importance of prompt completing the implementation of the rest of the provisions of the Riyadh Agreement, appreciating the keenness and efforts of the Arab Coalition countries led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards establishing lasting peace and stabilizing stability in the South in particular and Yemen in general.
