Southern Women’s Supreme Committee holds extended meeting for women’s sector in Shabwa

Under the patronage of the President of the Southern Transitional Council, President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the Southern Women’s Supreme Committee, in coordination with the local leadership of the Council in Shabwa governorate, held an extended meeting with the women’s sector in the governorate.
In the meeting, which began with recitation from the holy Qur’an, and the southern national anthem, then the participants stood for a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs, after that Dr. Najwa Fadhl, Chairperson of the Southern Women’s Supreme Committee, Adviser to President Al-Zubaidi for Women’s Affairs, talked about her great happiness at her presence in Shabwa governorate, conveying to the attendees the greetings of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi.
Najwa Fadhl confirmed, “With the formation of the Supreme Committee for Southern Women, the women in the South have an entity that represents them and defends their rights and gains,” noting that the visit to Shabwa is to listen to the concerns and problems of women in Shabwa, and their aspirations to obtain their full rights and support in various fields.
Dr. Najwa expressed her thanks to the Department of Woman and Child in the governorate and the Shabwani Women for their tremendous efforts in the recent war to liberate the districts of Bayhan through symbolic contributions to support the heroes who made the most noticeable great sacrifices.
During the meeting, Yusra Salem, Director of the Women and Child Department in Shabwa’s Transitional Council, delivered a speech in which she said: “We in the governorate have a great deal of work to make a role for women in Shabwa through various activities related to their role in social, political, and economic work.”
It is worth noting that the women’s team from the Supreme Committee for Southern Women arrived on Friday afternoon in Shabwa governorate, headed by Dr. Najwa Fadhl, chairperson of the committee, advisor to the President of the Transitional Council for Women’s Affairs, and Ms. Aisha Taleb, Head of the Women’s Committee in the National Assembly, Vice-Chairperson of the Committee, and Ms. Ishtiaq Mohammed Saad Head of the Woman and Child Department in the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, advisor to the chairperson of the committee, and activist Intisar Khamis, advisor to the Chairman of the National Assembly for Women’s Affairs, member of the Supreme Committee for Southern Women.
