Under patronage of President Al-Zubaidi.. Supreme Committee of Southern Woman celebrates International Woman’s Day

The Supreme Committee for Southern Women organized a speech and artistic ceremony, on Tuesday, in the capital, Aden, on the occasion of International Woman’s Day, under the slogan “Southern Woman, the Maker of Change,” under the generous patronage of President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, the President of the Southern Transitional Council, and in the presence of members of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, Dr. Naser Al-Khubaji, Head of Negotiations Affairs Unit in the Council, and Lawyer Niran Sooki, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, and Dr. Suhair Ali Ahmed.

In the ceremony, which was attended by Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zauri, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji delivered a speech conveying to the attendees the greetings of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, and his congratulations to southern women and all women of the world on International Women’s Day, pointing out to achievements of the southern women, and their prominent role in leading the parade of struggle and revolution by the side of the man.

In his speech, Al-Khubaji stressed the principles of the Transitional Council and its democratic approach to empower women, pointing out that the Transitional Council works internally and externally with the priority to enhance the status of women and achieve the strategic goal of the people of the South of getting freedom and independence and building a southern federal state on the basis of equality and justice between men and women, noting that the Transitional Council has come from the people of the South and for them, and its goal is to restore their state, and will stand strong with what they want.

Al-Khubaji stressed the strong partnership and solid relationship with the Arab Coalition, and that the Transitional Council extends its hands to negotiation, dialogue and peace in order to complete the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement with all its provisions without selectivity, calling for strengthening the southern alignment and cohesion to confront challenges and risks, adding that the South will only be with all its sons and for all its sons, men and women, and at the conclusion of his speech, Al-Khubaji wished Southern women all success in all fields.

The Chairperson of the Supreme Committee of Southern Woman, Advisor to the President of the Southern Transitional Council for Woman’s Affairs, Dr. Najwa Fadl, also delivered a speech at the ceremony in which she welcomed the attendees, praising the large gathering of southern women from various governorates of the South participating in the event, addressing them and every southern woman and all women of the world, the congratulations and blessings on the occasion of International Day for woman.

Dr. Najwa said that International Woman’s Day comes at a time as women suffer as a result of wars and conflicts, calling for stopping the war and establishing peace and giving women the opportunity to participate in making peace and security, and giving them their undiminished rights, commending the great interest given by the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council, represented by President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, to southern women and his decision to form the Supreme Committee for Southern Woman to become an inclusive entity for all women of the South and a tributary to building the southern civil state.

The ceremony was attended by Ms. Ishtiaq Mohammed Saad, Head of Woman and Child Department in the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, and Brigadier Ahmed Hassan, Head of the Security Department of the Transitional Council, and Dr. Khaled Bamadhaf, Head of the Decision-Making Support Center, and a number of heads and members of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs of the Council, and the departments of the General Secretariat and committees of the National Assembly, as well as a number of directors-general of the districts of the capital, Aden, and representatives of international organizations and civil society organizations, in which it was inaugurated with the Holy Quran and then the southern national anthem.

The ceremony included a scene of raising the flags of the South, and artistic scenes about marriage of minors, and the struggle of southern women and the embodiment of their role in participating in all fields, in addition to lyrical and poetic parts and a drawing presentation, all of that implemented by a number of girls and participation of young of special needs, in which the large crowd of women who attended the ceremony enjoyed and got pleased by what were presented in the event.
