Ben Brik Chairs Meeting with NSMA and Media Committee of the Assembly

Major General Ahmed Saeed Ben Brik, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), on Thursday, chaired a meeting of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA) and the Media Committee for the fifth session of the Assembly, to discuss the media action plan and preparations of the fifth session which is scheduled to be held on the 13th and 14th of this month, June 2022.

In the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Lutfi Shatara, member of Presidency of the STC, deputy chairman of the Assembly, Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri, the official spokesman of the STC, head of NSMA, Mr. Mukhtar Al-Yafe’y, Deputy head of NSMA, head of Radio and Television Sector, and Mr. Husam Ashoor, head of the Media Committee for the fifth session of the National Assembly.

Major General Ben Brik delivered a detailed explanation of the specific dimensions to hold the fifth session of the Assembly, which will be convoked according to a decree issued by the president Aidarous Ben Qassim Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC.

The chairman of the Assembly highlighted that the fifth session is taking place in light of many changes and developments that have occurred in the South, notably Riyadh consultations and its outcomes, including the formation of a provisional presidential leadership council to manage the current stage.

Major General Ben Brik said: “The upcoming stage requires much more exerted work, efforts and evaluation within the Assembly and Presidency of the STC, to promptly enable nominating competencies that are capable of giving.”

Ben Brik lauded the immense efforts that have been undertaken by NSMA; the official and mass media, as well as the level of coordination between the Authority and the Media Committee for the Fifth Session of the Assembly.

For his part, Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri affirmed readiness of NSMA with all its formed sectors, to cover this major event, keep pace with all preparations and activities of the session, and overridingly gear up all available potentialities and means to properly highlight this significant event in the media.

Mr. Husam Ashoor, head of the media committee for the fifth session of Assembly, reviewed the perceptions, specific dimensions and orientations of the media action plan for the session and joint coordination between the committee and the various sectors of NSMA, as well as the local, Arab and international media for a comprehensive coverage to all activities and preparations of this significant event that comes in light of crucial turning points and political changes.

During the meeting, Ben Brik listened to a number of suggestions and opinions aimed at highlighting the main and important contents of the fifth session, complementary and supportive ideas to achieve a major success to the media action plan.

The meeting was attended by Ms. Nadra Abdul-Qudous, deputy head the Media Committee in the National Assembly, Dr. Abdullah Al-Haw, Head of the Training and Qualifying Sector, Dr. Saddam Abdullah, Head of Modern Press and Media Sector, Dr. Bassem Mansour, member of NSMA, Head of the Media Department, Ms.Huda Al-Kazmi, member of NSMA, Director of the Information Office in the capital Aden, and Mr. Ahmed Qassem, Office Director of the chairman of the National Assembly and several members of the media committee in the Assembly.
