Local authority in Aden the capital invites UN delegation to move organizations’ offices to the capital

The undersecretary Governor of the capital, Aden, Badr Muawon, discussed during his meeting with a UN delegation headed by Anthony Hayward, the military advisor to the Special Envoy for Yemen, the developments in the security and service conditions in the city.
In the presence of Aden’s Undersecretary for Development Affairs, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Adnan al-Kaf, Muawon stressed the position of the local authority in the capital, Aden, in support of the Presidential Leadership Council’s decision to classify the Houthi militias as a terrorist group.
The meeting, with the participation of Torsten Ahern and Anna Canto, UN advisors on security sector reform, and Peter Rice, director of the Office of the Special Envoy for Yemen in the capital, Aden, discussed the criminal militia’s persistence in its aggression against the security and international shipping routes and its targeting of oil facilities in the port of Dabba, threatening more terrorist acts and piracy crimes.
The meeting, that included the Director of Security of the capital Aden, Major General Mutahar Al-Shuaibi, indicated the flexibility of the Presidential Leadership Council and its commitment to the terms of the Stockholm Agreement, and its commitment to the principles and conditions of the truce and the opening of Sana’a Airport, despite the intransigence of the terrorist Houthi militia.
The Undersecretary of Aden Governorate for Development Affairs pointed out the need for the international community to deal with the Houthi militia as a terrorist group, calling for the withdrawal of the United Nations offices from Sana’a and transferring them to the capital, Aden, as it’s the capital of the internationally recognized legitimate government.
For his part, the military advisor to the Special Envoy for Yemen, Anthony Hayward, expressed his appreciation for the position of the Presidential Council in return for the Houthi terrorist militia’s indifference to people’s lives or taking into account the conditions of citizens, stressing that the recent escalation may reignite the war again.
