Al-Socotri discusses implementing the Omani agricultural and fisheries development plan

The Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries, Mr. Salem Abdullah Al-Socotri, on Sunday, held an extended meeting with leaders of the ministry, in the capital, Aden, to preview the results of his foreign tour and his participation in discussing the livelihood development project funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
Al-Socotri also presented at the meeting the outcomes of his participation in the first investment forum within the Hand in Hand initiative, in the Italian capital, Rome, in the middle of current October, and his participation in the 55th session of the Agricultural Development Council in Khartoum.
Al-Socotri illustrated receiving many promises and pledges to provide more support to finance agricultural and fisheries projects to advance these two vital sectors.
The Minister discussed the preparation of the executive plan to enhance the role of the agricultural and fisheries sectors in improving food security, after its approval by the Government, and the level of achievement of the national strategy for agriculture and fish, in cooperation with international experts at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
Al-Socotri directed the completion of all arrangements in preparation for the next stage, looking forward to the completion of many sustainable projects and development benefits, to push the wheel of advancement and development forward.
