The Governor of Aden the capital suspends fund fees on port goods

The Governor of Aden the capital, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, on Tuesday, called on shipping companies to operate direct flights to the port of Aden to facilitate the movement of trade and import and reduce costs for merchants.
This came during a joint meeting with the Minister of Transport, Abdel Salam Humaid, and a number of officials in the transport and trade sector, in which Lamlas revealed the suspension of funds fees imposed by some authorities on imported goods, stressing that the decision contributes to stimulating shipping companies to increase their trips to the port.
The Governor of Aden the capital pointed out that the local authority in the capital, Aden, was keen to overcome all difficulties that impede the port’s work and benefit from its privileges, such as reducing navigation, occupancy and storage fees.
Lamlas warned of strict and swift measures to confront any illegal levies practiced at some points at the entrances to the capital, Aden, as they negatively affect the movement of transport and commerce in the city.
He expressed appreciation to the cooperation and solidarity between the Ministry of Transport and the local authority in Aden the capital, stressing the concerted efforts to serve Aden, preserve its resources and wealth, and restore activity to all its sectors, especially the historic port of Aden.
