Al-Yafei praises cinematic and theatrical works stressing their importance in preserving southern identity

In the meeting, that was attended by two members of the Board of Directors of the National Southern Media Authority, Dr. Bassem Mansour, and Ms. Huda Al-Kazmi, Al-Yafei praised the role of positive cinematic and theatrical works, pointing out to the keenness of the National Media Authority in encouraging cinematic and theatrical works and supporting its various activities that aim at preserving the southern identity and its cultural heritage.

Al-Yafei commended the great success achieved by the movie “The Burdened” and the show of the play “Hamlet”, which were both directed by Amr Gamal, and achieved praise at the internal and external levels.

The meeting discussed ways to advance cultural work in general, including cinematic and theatrical works in particular, and the visions that aimed at preserving Southern cultural heritage through these works.

For his part, director and writer Amr Gamal expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Vice-Chairman of the National Southern Media Authority, praising the efforts and role of the Authority in its keenness and interest in cultural works, and its continuous support in various aspects for the media and culture cadres.
