In an exclusive interview on TV… President Al-Zubaidi: The Southern Transitional Council establishes a base of democracy in the South

The President of the Southern Transitional Council, Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, said that the Southern Transitional Council establishes a democratic base and dialogue for all the people of the south, pointing out that democracy and dialogue are the real and ideal way to get out of any political crisis.

This came during a special interview broadcast by Aden Independent TV Channel – AIC (Al-Mustaqila) on Wednesday evening, with President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, 24 hours before the start of holding the southern consultative meeting called for by President Al-Zubaidi, on which southerners rely a lot to reach results that meet the aspirations of the people of the south after several meetings that took place for the southern national dialogue teams with the various southern political components.

In the television interview, President Al-Zubaidi congratulated the people of the south on the sixth anniversary of the establishment of the Southern Transitional Council, describing the date of May 4 as a historic day in reference to the anniversary of the founding of the Transitional Council, expressing his hope that the people of the south will have confidence in achieving its goals.

President Al-Zubaidi said that the popular mandate is a motive for the Transitional Council to continue achieving the goals of the people of the south, and made it clear that the Transitional Council is a political entity that brings together all the components of the south and will fulfill all the demands of the southern people.

President Al-Zubaidi indicated in the interview that the southern national dialogue teams, internal and external, had succeeded in holding meetings with the southern political components, stressing that the unification of the components is a basic demand of the people of the south and at the heart of the tasks of the Transitional Council, stressing the success of the southern dialogue thanks to the continuous efforts of the dialogue teams through more than a year and a half.

President Al-Zubaidi stressed that the consultative meeting will be followed by other stages in the future, stressing that this southern consultative meeting will lay the first building blocks for a national project to restore the state of the south, referring to the consensus of the southern components that restoring the state of the south is a prerequisite for any future dialogue.

During his speech on AIC, President Al-Zubaidi stressed that the south will be keen to form distinguished relations with neighboring countries, and pledged to restore the former membership of the south in the United Nations and international and regional organizations, adding that the south secures the southern internal front, while the enemies of the south are trying to thwart the unification of ranks, stressing that the state of the south will not attack anyone, adding that we are ready to defend our country from any danger it faces, explaining that the people of the south and the geography of the land are the only guarantors, denying any intention to resort to the support of another country.

President Al-Zubaidi revealed the work on making a draft southern national charter that can be modified by addition or decrease to turn into a final charter with the agreement of the southern political components on it, considering that the National Charter will be the basic building block for setting the goals of all the southern components, and will establish a starting stage towards a comprehensive peace in the region, indicating that the differences in the south are confined to the system and form of the next state, which will be agreed upon.

President Al-Zubaidi revealed the invitation of all southern powers to participate in formulating the system of the next state, stressing that the bonds of brotherhood are our way to agree with each other.

President Al-Zubaidi stressed that the bodies of the Southern Transitional Council have been in a state of continuous construction since its establishment 6 years ago, pointing to the need to update the Transitional Council’s documents to advance the effectiveness of political activity, indicating that the restructuring process includes the military and security institutions after the end of the work of restructuring the Southern Transitional Council.

The President of the Southern Transitional Council considered that the terrorism file is considered thorny and intrusive to the south, pointing to the importance of implementing Operation Arrows of the East as a necessity to defeat the terrorist forces and their supporters, calling on the international community to support the southern armed forces in their war on terrorism.
