A consultative meeting in Mukalla to establish a unified southern feminist entity

The Women’s Authority of the Southern Transitional Council, in the city of Mukalla, witnessed an expanded consultative meeting of Hadhramaut women, under the slogan (On the way to establishing a unified southern feminist entity), with the participation of activists and feminist crowds from various sects and political components.

Dr. Suhair Ali Ahmed, Chairperson of the Commission, referred to the role of Hadrami women in the various stages of the national struggle, pointing to the challenges facing southern women.

She warned of the need to establish a southern feminist political entity, which expresses the situation of southern women who believe in the right to restore the state, and defend their rights guaranteed by the literature of the Southern Transitional Council and its national document, as stipulated in the United Nations Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and international agreements.

Dr. Suhair called for uniting efforts to support the south and its just cause, and to defend women’s rights, explaining that the leadership of the council was keen on the participation of women in the various bodies of the council.

The meeting dealt with a number of political, social and economic issues that concern southern women, in addition to the mechanisms that guarantee their participation in decision-making in the southern country.
