Bin Brik Gets Briefed on Public Service and Security Situation in Abyan Governorate

Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Chairman of the National Assembly, met today, Sunday, with a number of tribal leaders, military commanders, and security officers from Abyan Governorate.

The meeting, which was attended by Dr. Al-Khader Al-Saeedi, a member of the STC’s Presidium, discussed the public service, military, and security conditions, in addition to a range of topics and issues that encounter Abyan governorate and ways to provide solutions and remedies for these difficulties, as well as the positive role of sheikhs and dignitaries in contributing to resolving such challenges.

The Vice President of the STC confirmed that the governorate of Abyan has been the focus of attention of the STC’s leadership, who are working hard to calm the situation there and do their best to maintain the security situation and improve its public service and daily living conditions, stressing the need for solidarity and cohesiveness among the people of the governorate and coalescing around the leadership of the STC to bridge the rift and in reparation efforts.

The attendees in the meeting, in which Brigadier General Ahmed Hassan, head of the security department of the STC, and Brigadier General Mukhtar al-Nubi, commander of the Abyan axis, participated, affirmed the readiness of the people of Abyan to cheaply sacrifice their souls to consolidate the pillars of security and stability and to confront all hatched conspiracies and plans that try to stir up discord among the people of Abyan and cleanse the land from the elements of evil and terrorism, and all those who try to undermine the soil, honor, and dignity of the South.

The meeting was attended by Major General Mohammad Ali Hadi, head of the Security Committee of the National Assembly, Mr. Mohammad Al-Shaqi, head of the Executive Body of the Local Leadership in Abyan Governorate, Mr. Abdullah Alian, member of the National Assembly, Sheikh Faisal Mohammad Ali Al-Marqashi, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Hasani, and Mr. Ahmed Qassem, director of the Office of the Chairman of the Assembly.
