Major General Bin Brik meets with Head of Customs Authority

Major General Ahmed Saeed bin Brik, Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, met today, Wednesday, with Abdul-Hakim Al Qubati, director general of the Customs Authority in the capital, Aden.

The meeting, in which Mr. Abdullah Saleh al-Habshi, deputy of the Customs Authority, participated, discussed the mechanism of customs work in the land, sea, and air ports of the capital, Aden, and the rest of the liberated governorates, and the obstacles that may stand in the way of customs activities and customs facilities for importers and exporters through the ports of the liberated governorates.

For his part, Major General Bin Brik underscored that the customs activities have to be proceeded as per a strategic plan with regard to customs revenues, controlling imbalances, and strengthening coordination with the concerned authorities in the ports, shipping companies, and importers to support continuing the port of Aden and the rest of the ports, as such coordination was tangible during the period of autonomous administration that he himself had governed.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Abdul-Nasser Al Azzani, Director of Public Relations at Customs.
