Ministry of Health discusses with UNICEF its interventions in health sector

The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Qassem Buhaibeh, in the capital, Aden, discussed with the UNICEF Resident Representative to Yemen, Peter, various UNICEF interventions in the health sector, and strengthening work in the primary health care sector, including providing the minimum package of health services.
The two sides also discussed reviewing the community health worker project and focusing on the outputs of health institutes to develop the service and implement the health immunization campaign against measles, which is to be implemented by the Ministry of Health with the support of its partners, once the technical arrangements for it are completed.
The Minister of Health stressed the strength of the partnership with UNICEF and the importance of organizing work in it, focusing on interventions that have an impact on service seekers, striving to improve the quality of health facilities and ensuring their continuity, strengthening educational work and intensifying awareness-raising activities for it before the start of campaigns, stressing the need for concerted action. Efforts and mobilization of energies for the success of immunization campaigns.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for the Primary Health Care Sector, Dr. Ali Al-Walidi, reviewed the procedures and measures taken by the Ministry to prepare and plan for the measles campaign and take the necessary measures for it, stressing the readiness of the Ministry of Health and its offices in the governorates for this.
For his part, the UNICEF representative praised the role played by the Ministry of Health in its various sectors, and the existing partnership between the Ministry and the organization. He pointed to the need to find a unified plan of action, including behavioral change, health education, and the development of a mobilization work structure for all sectors to serve immunization campaigns and their objectives, and how to raise awareness compatible with services. and societal requirements.
