Chairman of the National Assembly of STC receives head of International Committee of Red Cross delegation in Aden the capital

The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, received in his office the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the capital, Aden, headed by Mr. Yann Bukhali, and Bahaa Hassan Al-Salami, the political advisor and assistant head of the mission.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the National Assembly praised the role of the International Committee of the Red Cross, its humanitarian, relief, and health efforts, and the remarkable successes it achieved in prisoner exchange operations and enhancing implementation of the provisions of international humanitarian law.
Al-Kathiri confirmed in the meeting, which included Dr. Salem Al-Shabhi, Chairman of the Health Committee in the National Assembly, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Health for the Population Sector, said that the National Assembly is keen to continue the joint working relationship with the International Committee of the Red Cross, assist it in its interventions, and overcome any difficulties that obstructed its work.
Mr. Yann Bukhali then reviewed all the activities carried out by the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation in the capital, Aden, during the last period, its plans and programs, and the interventions planned to be implemented during the coming period.
Mr. Bukhali expressed his thanks and appreciation for the vital support provided by the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council to international organizations working in the capital, Aden, and other southern governorates, including the International Mission of the Red Cross, noting that this support effectively contributed to the organizations accomplishing their tasks and work with all efficiency and ability.
Mr. Bukhali stressed the importance of continuing and developing the joint cooperation relationship between the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation and the National Assembly of the Transitional Council, represented by the Health Committee, to accomplish more humanitarian and relief work, especially in the most needy locations on the contact lines on the front lines.
