The Governor of Socotra appreciates UAE’s efforts to prepare rescue teams before Hurricane Tej

Raafat Al-Thaqali, Governor of Socotra, directed the Office of the Ministry of Tourism and tourism agencies to work to secure tourists in hotels to preserve their safety, and to raise the readiness of Sheikh Khalifa Hospital to receive emergency cases.

Accompanied by members of the security committee, he inspected the process of opening and widening the narrow sewers in Khor Dasrhan, Khor Hadibo, the fish market, and Wadi Dahmis, opening sea passages, and finding urgent solutions to ensure the smooth movement of torrents and rainwater, in anticipation of the approaching Hurricane Tej.

Al-Thaqali appreciated the efforts of the brothers in the United Arab Emirates, along with the local authority, to overcome emergency circumstances, by equipping rescue and civil defense teams and providing the necessary mechanisms for the process of opening waterways and other necessary interventions in exceptional circumstances.

The Governor of Socotra instructed the executive agencies to quickly prepare the equipment, prepare the workers on board, and connect them to the joint operations center in the governorate, to direct them to the locations that need interventions during and after the passage of the hurricane.
