The Deputy Director of Security of the capital, Aden, meets with official of the Office of UN High Commissioner for Human Rights

The Deputy Director of Security of the capital, Aden, Brigadier General Abu Bakr Jabr, on Sunday morning, in his office in Aden Security Administration building, met the official of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

In the meeting, Brigadier General Abu Bakr Jabr welcomed the official of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mr. Badr Farouk, who briefed him on the efforts provided by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the humanitarian work they have been making since their presence in the country.

The meeting touched on a number of issues related to the Prison Service, especially women’s prisons, and knowledge of the humanitarian aspect towards female prisoners. The meeting also discussed the security situation, support for the Prison Service, and ways of joint cooperation between the Security Department and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Brigadier General Jabr stressed that the security situation in the capital is witnessing a noticeable development at various levels and in all districts, pointing out the importance of partnership with the Commission in the humanitarian field, as well as the need for support for the Prisons Service.

For his part, the official of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner extended his sincere thanks and appreciation for the Security Department’s response to them and their efforts in overcoming many difficulties in many of the humanitarian work carried out by some humanitarian organizations, stressing that the Office of the High Commissioner will work on what was discussed to implement many projects aiming to enhance efforts to support human rights.
