SMA NEWS – MAKHA
The US Central Command revealed that an American destroyer ship in the Gulf of Aden was targeted by two ballistic missiles launched from areas controlled by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia, without causing damage.
General Michael Eric Kurella, Commander of US Central Command, stressed that “the security of the maritime domain is essential for regional stability, and we will continue to work with allies and partners to ensure the safety and security of international shipping lanes.”
Earlier, the Coast Guard announced liberating the oil tanker “Central Park”, which is operated by the “Zodiac” company, after an attempt to hijack it in the Gulf of Aden.
The US Central Command announced that “five militants later disembarked from the tanker and attempted to escape on a small boat, but they were pursued, which led to their eventual surrender.”
