The Fund for Care and Rehabilitation of Disabled in the capital, Aden, organizes a speech and artistic ceremony on occasion of International Day for People with Disabilities

The Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled, its main center in the capital, Aden, on Thursday, organized a speech and artistic ceremony on the occasion of the International Day for People with Disabilities, under the slogan “United in achieving the sustainable development goals for people with disabilities,” under the patronage of Dr. Mohammed Al-Zaouri, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, and in partnership with UNICEF.

At the ceremony, Mr. Fadl Mohammed Al-Jaadi, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Secretary-General of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council, delivered a speech in which he conveyed the greetings of President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, President of the Transitional Council, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, in which he expressed his happiness at attending this celebration and its importance on the occasion of International Day of Disability, which was recognized by the United Nations as a global achievement for this segment that requires attention and care from everyone.

Al-Jaadi stressed the importance of paying attention to the conditions of people with disabilities and special needs, encouraging their activities and creativity, and helping their families to send their children to rehabilitation and training centers, which would unleash their energies and abilities, which would help them engage in work as a right guaranteed to them by all laws, and increase awareness and knowledge about disability issues and the rights of the disabled, in addition to providing employment opportunities with professional integration of people with disabilities through training and rehabilitation programs, and enhancing their abilities and skills to obtain sustainable job opportunities.

For her part, Dr. Najwa Fadl, Director General of the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled, in the main center in the capital, Aden, delivered a speech in which she stressed the importance of the International Day for People of Disabilities, which highlights their issues and achieving sustainable development for them, noting that the Fund works hard to provide the necessary care and support for people with special needs in various fields, whether educational, health or rehabilitation.

Dr. Najwa expressed her thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to providing continuous support to the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled and their contribution to improving the lives of people with special needs and providing them with the necessary services, and she also thanked UNICEF for the partnership and continued support for the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled.

The Director of UNICEF in Aden presented the organization’s speech in which he expressed his happiness at holding this event in Aden and the interest shown by most agencies and institutions here for the disabled, wishing to provide all support to this group and encourage them to achieve the best for them.

The ceremony included various artistic performances presented by local artistic groups and talented artists with special needs. Participants in the ceremony presented theatrical performances, folkloric dances, and delightful musical performances.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of community and civil institutions, in addition to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Aden, and Brigadier General Pilot Nasser Al-Saadi, head of the community body auxiliary to the Presidency of the Transitional Council.
