Al-Sharafi and Al-Zaouri discuss the flow of humanitarian and relief aid

The Deputy Head of the General Department of Foreign Affairs of the Southern Transitional Council, Mr. Anis Al-Sharafi, on Thursday, conducted a visit to the office of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, during which he met with the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zaouri.

The meeting, which took place in the presence of Dr. Najeeb Qaed, Head of the International Organizations Section at Foreign Affairs, discussed the work of civil society organizations and their humanitarian and development activities in the southern governorates and liberated areas in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations in coordination with all relevant authorities, and the flow of humanitarian and relief aid in the country.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Zaouri called for greater coordination with donors to find a mechanism that responds to economic and financial changes and their repercussions on the living reality of citizens, and to take serious stances to get rid of the negatives that have accompanied the progress of humanitarian work over the past years, noting the necessity of applying the laws and regulations regulating humanitarian work in the country.

Al-Zaouri praised the efforts of the leadership of the Transitional Council, represented by President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, in supporting the efforts of international and civil society organizations, facilitating their humanitarian activities, working to remove any obstacles that hinder the implementation of programs and projects provided by donors, and working to enhance coordination efforts between all parties to ensure the flow of aid and humanitarian and relief services in the country, expressing thanks for the interaction of the Transitional Council departments at the beginning of the year 2024 in learning about the total work achieved by the Ministry during the past year.

In turn, Al-Sharafi praised the Ministry’s role in the achievements it has accomplished, whether at the level of the Ministry’s office or its offices in the governorates, stressing the provision of assistance and coordination to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid and the realization of development and service projects in all governorates.

The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary for the Social Welfare Sector, Saleh Mahmoud, and the Director General of Associations and Federations, Mohammed Al-Samati.
