The political body of STC organizes an event honoring women on the occasion of International Women’s Day

The Auxiliary Political Body of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), on Wednesday, in the capital, Aden, organized an event honoring women on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8.

The event included a brief speech by Dr. Nasser Al-Khobaji, Head of the Political Body and Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, congratulating southern women on the occasion of International Women’s Day, stressing the great and pivotal role in building southern civil society in various aspects of life, as they are an essential element in bringing about the process of change in society.

In the context of his speech, Al-Khobaji explained the reality of the general political scene and the challenges of the current stage, stressing the necessity of activating the role of women in all stages of the political struggle.

Al-Khobaji affirmed the Transitional Council’s position in supporting southern women in political empowerment, and giving them a high status with the aim of demanding their rights to opinion, education, and defending themselves against violence, ignorance, and backwardness.

In turn, Dr. Suhair Ali, Head of the Women’s Authority in STC, pointed out the importance of restoring the pioneering role of southern women, who were pioneers in community work since the 1940s and 1950s, stressing that southern women have proven their worth in various activities for the nation.

The event was attended by Dr. Saleh Al-Hajj, Head of the General Department of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mona Bashraheel, Head of the Training and Qualification Authority of the Southern Transitional Council, Dr. Najwa Fadl, Advisor to President Al-Zubaidi for Women’s Affairs.
