SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
The Southern Journalists and Media Members Syndicate called for the speedy disbursement of salaries to members of media institutions who are entering the third month without receiving their payments.

In a statement, the Syndicate affirmed its full solidarity with the male and female members of media institutions and its efforts to end their suffering.

Statement text:

“The Southern Journalists and Media Members Syndicate is closely following the appeals of male and female colleagues in media institutions in Aden the capital and other regions of the south, demanding their salaries, which are entering the third month, without any signs of receiving them until now.
The Southern Journalists and Media Members Syndicate, as it expresses deep regret for the suffering of male and female colleagues in media institutions, especially in these blessed days when people are preparing to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, the Syndicate calls on the Ministries of Information and Finance to expedite the disbursement of their salaries and fulfill the entitlements of the most important segments of society that are losing media pioneers, symbols, and cadres day by day after they spent many years carrying out their mission with great national responsibility, integrity, honor and purity.

The delay in distributing the salaries of male and female workers in official media institutions for about three months, not to mention the cessation of the activity of these institutions since the 2015 war until the present moment, calls for urgent intervention from the Presidential Leadership Council and the government of Prime Minister Ben Mubarak to end the suffering of hundreds of employees of the official media and restore the spirit to its leading institutions in the region and carry out their tasks and rehabilitate its monuments.

The Southern Journalists and Media Members Syndicate confirms in its statement its full solidarity with the male and female members of the media institutions and seeking with them to end their suffering. We assure you that we were together in the protest in front of the gate of Ma’ashiq Palace last week, side by side with the protesters, searching for their salaries and benefits and condemning the continued torture of employees for their livelihood despite the government realizes that the suspended salaries of journalists cannot cope with the outrageous prices.
The Syndicate will not hesitate to support every effort that advances media institutions and their workers.”
