UAE Crescent distributes 1,122 food baskets in Hadhramaut

The UAE Red Crescent began its Ramadan Project, with the advent of the blessed month, to distribute Ramadan food baskets to patients with cancer, thalassemia, and kidney failure in the city of Mukalla, and the most needy families in Hadhramaut Governorate.

The Red Crescent teams distributed 1,122 food baskets of essential food supplies, benefiting 5,610 members of the targeted families.

The representative of the UAE Red Crescent Authority, Humaid Rashid Al Shamsi, revealed that the project comes within the humanitarian and development efforts of the UAE, with the aim of improving life, alleviating the suffering of people, and meeting their needs during the holy month of Ramadan.

He explained that the aim of the initiative is to enhance areas of food security, in light of the current circumstances that the country is experiencing, stressing that the aid contributes to bridging the food gap and meeting the needs of its beneficiaries.
