SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
Mr. Salem Thabet Al-Awlaqi, head of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA), assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and the official spokesman of the STC, received on Wednesday in his office the Netherlands media delegation from NOS Radio and Television, including journalist Dessie Anna Elizabeth and photographer Ademi Van Rijn.
During the meeting, Mr. Al-Awlaqi welcomed the visiting Netherlands media delegation, which is visiting the capital, Aden, for the second time, affirming the welcome of international delegations and institutions operating in the capital, Aden, and the visits of international media delegations to follow up on the normalization of the situation and convey a positive image of the conditions in the capital, Aden, and the South, despite the exceptional circumstances that the country is experiencing.
Al-Awlaqi pointed to the importance of the role of international media in highlighting the political, economic, and field conditions in the country and revealing the extent of the violations, destruction, and devastation carried out by the Houthi militia, considering them a terrorist group that does not believe in peace and poses a threat to security, stability, and international interests.
Al-Awlaqi added that the terrorist piracy against international maritime navigation carried out by the Houthi militia has harmed the country’s economy and food security for citizens through its disastrous economic repercussions that have exacerbated the humanitarian, living, and service crises that the country is going through.
In turn, the Netherlands media delegation expressed their thanks for the facilities provided by NSMA and affirmed the importance of conveying the facts and the nature of the humanitarian situation in Aden and the south.
