President Al-Zubaidi Directs Swift Establishment of a Fair Mechanism to Ensure Stable Roti Bread Prices

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade to swiftly devise a fair consensus mechanism to regulate bread production costs and ensure price stability in line with the purchasing power of citizens.
This directive came during his meeting today, Monday, with Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Salem Mohammed Al-Wali, where his excellency listened to a detailed explanation of the circumstances surrounding the strike carried out by owners of bakeries and the preliminary understandings reached by the ministry with the Bakeries and Ovens Association to suspend the strike and resume their bread and loaf sales activities.
At the end of the meeting, President Al-Zubaidi stressed the need for the ministry to assume its responsibility in monitoring the food supply situation and the availability of basic commodities and their alternatives in the local market, in light of the continued Houthi escalation against international shipping lanes in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab strait, preventing commercial fraud and monopoly practices, and taking strict legal action against any violations.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Imad Mohammed Ahmed, Director of the Office of the Vice President of the PLC.
