STC Presidium Emphasizes Expeditious Completion of Urgent Solutions Matrix to Counter Economic and Service Deterioration and Its Implementation Scheduling Mechanism

The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regularly scheduled meeting today, Sunday, headed by President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC, in the presence of the STC’s ministers and heads of auxiliary bodies.
During the meeting, the Presidium reviewed the progress made in preparing the matrix of urgent solutions to address the economic and service deterioration, which was presented and discussed during the meeting chaired by President Al-Zubaidi last Friday and included the ministers of the South in the government and the heads of a number of specialized bodies in the STC.
The Presidium stressed the need to expedite the completion of the matrix and to incorporate the remarks and opinions presented by specialists, particularly with regard to activating revenue-generating and productive institutions, foremost among which is the Aden refinery and its scheduled mechanism of implementation.
The Presidium stood extensively before the recent decisions of the Central Bank of Aden, their expected impact on exchange rate stability, their future dimensions on the banking and financial sector, and the economic situation in general, according to a report submitted by the Head of the Economic and Service Commission (ESC), Mr. Murad Al-Halimi. In this respect, the Presidium reaffirmed its support for any decisions aimed at curbing the Houthi terrorist militia and its efforts to harm the banking sector.
The Presidium also stressed the need for the board of directors of the Central Bank to continue its efforts and reforms for the banking sector and financial policies, and for the bank to exercise its supervisory and oversight role over banks and moneychangers in a way that ensures the availability of the required liquidity of local and foreign currency, which enables state institutions to fulfill their obligations and maintains exchange rate stability.
In another context, the Presidium reviewed during its meeting the general guidelines for the STC’s political and media discourse at the present stage, which were presented by the Head of the Political Commission, Head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, during his report to the meeting, in which he summarized the position of the STC on the events and political variables related to the cause of the South.
At the end of its meeting, the Presidium touched on a range of organizational topics and issues related to the work of the central and local bodies of the STC and took the appropriate measures in this regard.
