Al-Khobaji: Any political process without the issue of the people of the south does not concern us

SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
Dr. Nasser Al-Khobaji, head of the auxiliary political body of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, said that any political process that does not include the issue of the people of the South does not concern us.
While receiving a group of active southern women to inform them of developments in the southern national, regional and international political scene, and in the presence of the head of the Women’s Authority, Dr. Suheir Ali, Al-Khobaji explained that the Transitional does not recognize the road map as long as it does not express the people of the south or their aspirations.
He pointed out that all options are available, considering that the government partnership is a political gain, pointing out that the partnership strongly strengthens the Council’s presence at the regional and international levels, and contributes to building strong foundations for the future.
He added, “We agree with the legitimacy in confronting the Iran-backed Houthi militia, but we disagree with it on several issues. This does not mean that we will continue our partnership if the legitimacy continues to violate the partnership and its obligations.”
He continued, “We may be opponents of legitimacy if the terrorist Houthi militia is eliminated and legitimacy disavows the issue of the people of the south,” referring to the deteriorating economic reality, which has burdened the citizen.
Al-Khobaji stressed that there are efforts being made by the southern transitional council to put pressure on the government to carry out its duties in addressing the service and economic collapse, stressing the Council’s refusal to “open roads in a random manner, in light of a state of war.”
He added, “Everyone must be aware of this, and the war is not over yet. That is why we call for the opening of roads under the supervision of local, regional and international committees to ensure that weapons and other things are not smuggled, since the Houthi militias are not trusted at all.”
Al-Khobaji stressed activating the role of women in all stages of the political struggle, stressing the great and pivotal role in building southern civil society in various aspects of life, as they are an essential element in bringing about the process of change in society.
He expressed the position of the Southern Transitional Council in support of southern women through political empowerment and encouragement with the aim of demanding their rights and defending themselves against violence, ignorance and backwardness.
