SMA NEWS – MUKALLA
Peaceful demonstrators in a protest stand in the city of Mukalla, on the Hadhramaut coast, on Tuesday, demanded improvement of service conditions and living conditions, responding to the legitimate demands of the people of Hadhramaut and preserving its wealth.
The participants in the stand in front of the Hadhramaut Governorate office, in response to an invitation from the Hadhramaut General Conference, expressed their rejection of any agendas that detract from the rights and dignity of the people of Hadhramaut Governorate, or allow the plundering of its wealth and the continuation of the policy of exclusion and marginalization.
The protesting stand, that was made in the midst of a large popular presence, called on the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to deal positively with Hadhramaut issues and enhance its position and role.
A statement issued by the stand, which coincided with stands in the cities of Sayoun, Ash Shihr, Tarim, Ghayl Bawazir and Al-Qatn, stressed that the mass activities come in support of all efforts that seek to give Hadhramaut its right, its deserved position, and to correct its conditions.
The statement pointed to the suffering experienced by the people of Hadhramaut from a lack of basic services, hardship in living, and monopolization of Hadhramaut’s wealth and resources, calling for an end to the oppressive and arbitrary practices against Hadrami cadres and their dismissal from their jobs under flimsy pretexts.
The statement called on political forces, unions, mass federations, community figures and all people of conscience to raise their voices loudly and express what the citizen is suffering, and to pressure the central and local authorities as responsible parties to address the imbalances
