Decision to ban carrying weapons and smuggling qat in Socotra

Raafat Al-Thaqali, Governor of Socotra Archipelago, decided to assign the Security Belt Forces to prevent the smuggling of qat and contraband and to prevent the carrying of weapons without a license from the competent authorities in the governorate.

Decision No. (18) of 2024 issued by the governor Al-Thaqali stipulated the prohibition of the entry of the qat into the governorate, combating the smuggling of qat and contraband and preventing people from carrying weapons without a license.

The governor attributed the decision to maintaining the security and stability of the governorate, calling on everyone to cooperate with the security authorities to achieve the public interest.
