Al-Kathiri Highlights the STC’s Support for Lahj Security Leadership to Maintain Stability in the Governorate

Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Chairman of the National Assembly, met on Tuesday, with Brigadier General Nasser al-Shawhati, the newly appointed security director of Lahj Governorate.
In the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Brigadier General Mohsen Al-Wali, Commander of the Security Belt Forces, Major General Mutahar Ali Naji, Director of Security of the Capital, Aden, and Brigadier Ahmed Hassan Al-Marhabi, Head of the Security Department of the STC, Mr. Al-Kathiri congratulated Brigadier General Al-Shawhati on gaining the leadership’s trust, affirmeding, along with the present security leaders, their united stance under the leadership of President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the STC and Supreme Commander of the Southern Armed Forces, to support the Security Directorate of Lahj in enhancing security and stability in the governorate and to assist it, as well as all security services and military units in governorates of the South, in elevating the institutional work of the Southern Armed Forces and improving its performance to maintain public tranquility for citizens.
Mr. Al-Kathiri has stressed the importance of continuing to achieve more security successes and preserving the gains made through the great ultimate sacrifices of Lahj security personnel, led by the late hero Major General Saleh Al-Sayyid and his successor, Brigadier General Hussein Al-Junaidi, calling for redoubling efforts to confront criminal plots and sleeper cells belonging to the Houthi militias and the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, and for joint coordination with security services and military units in the capital, Aden, and neighboring governorates, given Lahj’s strategic importance to the security of Aden in particular and the governorates of the South in general.
Al-Kathiri has reiterated that the STC, with all its central and local bodies in Lahj Governorate, will support the governorate’s security services in enhancing security, stability, and harmony and ensuring the safety of citizens. He further pledged to provide the required support to assist the security services in fulfilling their national duty and carrying out their tasks efficiently and effectively at all levels.
For his part, Brigadier General al-Shawhati appreciated the trust of the leadership of the STC, led by President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi and his deputies, and Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the National Assembly, and the great support they provide to the security system in Lahj Governorate, indicating that the assignment and responsibility entrusted to him calls for everyone to work closely to enhance the security of the Governorate of Lahj and all the liberated governorates of the South.
