Al-Awlaqi Meets with Activists and Young People to Discuss Recent Developments in the Situation

Mr. Salem Thabet Al-Awlaqi, head of the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA), assisting the Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and the official spokesman of the STC, met on Monday, with a number of activists, youth, and media members at the National Southern Media Authority (NSMA) headquarters in the capital, Aden.

The meeting discussed a range of political, security, and societal challenges in the capital, Aden, and the governorates of the South, as well as the role and impact of activists and youth in shaping these issues for the betterment of society, security, and stability.

In the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Ali Al-Hadiani, press secretary to President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Al-Naqeeb, the official spokesman of the Southern Armed Forces, Dr. Saddam Abdullah, head of the Press and Modern Media Sector, and Dr. Yasser Ba-Azab, director of the Media Office in Abyan Governorate, Mr. Al-Awlaqi reviewed the political and economic conditions in light of the move towards peace, stressing the need to deal cautiously and responsibly with the practices of the Houthi militias, which seek to gain advantages and evade all their commitments, as always.

Al-Awlaqi highlighted the recent security developments and cowardly terrorist attacks targeting the Southern Forces in Abyan Governorate, emphasizing the clear collusion between the Houthi militia and terrorist organizations and urging all activists, writers, and opinion makers to coalesce around the security forces’ efforts to maintain security and stability.

Al-Awlaqi stressed the importance of cohesiveness, rapprochement, cooperation, and solidarity among the people of the South to bolster security and stability efforts, improve service and living conditions, and enhance the work of service, security, oversight, and judicial institutions in the governorates of the South.

The meeting featured a wide range of discussions on the political, security, and socioeconomic challenges facing governorates of the South, touching on the roles and responsibilities of the STC and the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) in addressing these challenges and issues.

The meeting also encompassed various issues related to human rights and media freedom in the governorates of the South.

The attendees praised the importance of such gatherings for fostering dialogue and consultation among activists and youth and for clarifying many issues, expressing their gratitude to NSMA for organizing the meeting and providing a space for open, constructive, and productive discussions.
