The General Secretariat of STC’s presidency celebrates the International Day of Peace
Under patronage of President Al-Zubaidi

The Women and Children Department in the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) organized on Wednesday, in the capital, Aden, an artistic ceremony on the occasion of the International Day of Peace, under the patronage of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council.
In the ceremony, which was held in coordination and cooperation with the Women and Children Department in the STC authority of the capital, Aden, and the Culture Office in the capital, and under the slogan “For childhood to enjoy security, peace must be established”, it began with a verse from the Holy Qur’an, then the Southern National Anthem, Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Haider Al-Shaqi, Assistant Secretary-General of the General Secretariat, delivered a speech in which he conveyed the greetings of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, to the cubs and flowers of the south, indicating that peace is the foundation on which homelands are built and the aspirations of peoples are achieved, and that the Southern Transitional Council places peace at the top of its priorities.
Al-Shaqi added, “Today, we send a message of peace from the capital, Aden, this civilized city that has embraced everyone and remains steadfast despite all challenges. Nothing emanates from Aden except the spirit of peace and love. From this valiant city, we express our deep solidarity with the children of Palestine and Lebanon and all those who suffer from the scourge of conflicts. We are well aware of what pain and suffering mean, as a people who have struggled for a long time and are still struggling for their rights.
The Assistant Secretary-General stressed the continuation of the struggle until the restoration of the southern state with full sovereignty, so that our children can enjoy a dignified life in which peace and stability prevail. We are a people who love peace, and we will remain committed to our cause until we achieve our ambitions and ensure a better future for our coming generations.”
During the ceremony, an audio recording of the speech of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi was shown at the high-level open discussion session in the Security Council, on harnessing leadership for peace, which was held under the slogan “United in respecting the United Nations Charter in pursuit of a secure future”, within the framework of the item entitled “Maintaining international peace and security”.
The ceremony included various artistic and cultural segments, including heritage performances and national songs presented by children, reflecting the spirit of coexistence between the components of southern society. A play was also performed for the sake of the blood, which was well received by the audience.
The ceremony was attended by lawyer Niran Souqi, head of the Relief Authority Assisting the Presidency of the Transitional Council, a number of heads and deputies of the departments of the General Secretariat and the Director of the Culture Office in the capital, Aden, Ahmed bin Godal. And Mr. Majed Al-Shajri, Director General of the Social Welfare Fund in the capital, Aden, and Mr. Abdul Rahim Al-Jawi, Director General of Al-Mualla District.
