The National Assembly calls for a specific mechanism for distributing medical grants

Ali Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council, President of the National Assembly, during his reception of Dr. Salem Al-Shabhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, urged intensifying efforts to advance the health sector.
He pointed out the need to ensure the provision of services that meet the needs of citizens from patients in hospitals in the capital, Aden, and all southern governorates.
Al-Shabhi reviewed the ministry’s work plans and the semi-annual report for 2024 AD, on the level of completion of implemented projects and work in health facilities and institutes, and the problems and issues facing the ministry’s work.
The two sides discussed the mechanisms of work and coordination between the ministry, health offices and local authorities in the liberated governorates, and ways to develop the level of health care and services in government hospitals.
Al-Kathiri called for improving the services of health facilities and centers, increasing medical training programs, and benefiting from the support provided by international organizations concerned with the medical field and their interventions.
He urged regulating the distribution of medical grants to deserving students, and establishing a specific mechanism for distributing medical treatment grants provided by health attachés in sister countries.
