Signing a project agreement worth $ 1,500 million for the benefit of 9,747 people in Aden the capital

The project to respond to the needs of developing local capacities to educate literacy students and people with disabilities (second phase) was launched on Thursday in the capital, Aden, funded by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and implemented by the Yamani Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Action.
At the inauguration, Mr. Saleh Mahmoud Hassan Abu Suhail, Undersecretary of the Social Welfare Sector, delivered a speech in which he conveyed the greetings of His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zaouri, and his blessings for this project (the second phase), stressing in his speech the importance of the project that will contribute to supporting institutions for people with disabilities, as well as teaching literacy in our country, which faces major challenges due to the war waged by the terrorist Houthi militias, which has doubled the number of people with disabilities and increased the illiteracy rate among society. He extended his thanks and appreciation to the King Salman Center for implementing sustainable development projects that touch the lives of citizens. The project, which will last for 9 months with a funding value of up to one million and five hundred thousand dollars, aims to provide quality and sustainable educational opportunities for the target groups in the governorates of Aden, Hadramout, Al Dhale’e, Lahj, Shabwa and Al Mahrah. The project will benefit 9,747 people, including women, men, girls and boys, 73.2% of whom are people with disabilities (6,527 disabled people), 26.7% of literacy students (2,389) literacy students and 831 educational cadres in the targeted centers and schools in the governorates of Aden, Hadramout, Al Dhale’e, Lahj, Shabwa and Al-Mahra.
The project implementation agreement was signed by the Director General of Associations at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Mohammed Al-Samati, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for the Education Sector, Mohammed Lamlas, Naif Asiri, Deputy Representative of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action in the capital, Aden, and Ahmed Lakou, Chairman of the Yamani Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Action.
