In the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Issam Abdo Ali, Deputy Chairman of the Assembly, Mr. Al-Kathiri has provided an illustrative reading of the dire economic and service scene that the governorates of the South are experiencing, resulting in high rocketing prices and a sharp decline in the living conditions of citizens.
Al-Kathiri has urged the committees concerned with the service and economic aspects in the Assembly to intensify their field visits to the relevant authorities and to present proposals, ideas, and alternatives that would contribute to alleviating the severity of the crisis.
Similarly, the administrative body has urgently appealed to official brothers in the Arab coalition and international friends for immediate intervention to assist the people of the South who are facing a severe crisis.
The body also called on the government to fulfill its responsibilities in ensuring that all financial revenues from all governorates reach the central bank and to follow up on their collection as a key resource that would contribute to resolving the current economic crisis.
Furthermore, the body reviewed a report from the Youth and Sports Committee of the Assembly. The report provided a historical overview of the sports situation in the South prior to 1994, followed by a detailed account of the current state of sports in the South, highlighted the numerous obstacles and challenges facing the sports, and concluded with a series of recommendations and proposals aimed at revitalizing and developing sports in the South.
At the end of its meeting, the body discussed its third-quarter report for the year 2024. The report encompassed both organizational and political aspects, reports, topics and issues presented by the committees, implemented activities, and the committees’ performance in executing their plans.
