President Al-Zubaidi Chairs Meeting on Electricity Situation in the Capital, Aden, During Ramadan

President Aidarous Qassem Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and Vice Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), chaired on Sunday a meeting with the STC government ministers, dedicated to discussing the electricity supply in the capital, Aden, during the holy month of Ramadan.

The meeting, attended by senior officials of the STC, including Mr. Ali Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the National Assembly, and Major General Kamal Hamshari, a member of the Presidium of the STC and Acting Secretary-General, reviewed challenges facing the electricity sector with a focus on the lack of adequate fuel to operate generation plants at full capacity, as well as potential alternatives for purchased power plants whose contracts have recently been terminated.

The president listened to a range of opinions and suggestions on urgent measures that can be taken to ensure stable electricity supply and improve public service to citizens during the holy month of Ramadan.

At the end of the meeting, the president directed the senior officials to remain in an open-ended state of session to study immediate and possible solutions and coordinate with the relevant authorities to ensure the sustainability of the service.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Imad Mohammed, office director of the Vice President of the PLC.
