SMA NES – ATAQ
As part of his ongoing commitment to developing infrastructure and improving the level of basic services provided to citizens, Shabwa Governor and Chairman of the Local Council, Awad Mohammed bin Al-Wazir, conducted a field visit to the Network Water Field located in Ataq District. The visit aimed to review the progress and level of achievement in the project to drill and equip new water wells.

During the visit, Shabwa Governor Awad bin Al-Wazir listened to a detailed explanation from the Director General of the Water and Sanitation Corporation in Ataq City, Mohammed Al-Sulaimani, about the project to drill four water wells in the field, funded by the Kuwait Relief Society. He indicated that work is underway to equip the wells and connect them to the water distribution system, which will contribute to improving water supply and ensuring its continuity for citizens in Ataq City and neighboring areas.

Engineer Al-Sulaimani also discussed the readiness of two additional wells previously drilled in the Al-Shabika field. This will increase the total production capacity of water resources and directly contribute to narrowing the gap between the growing demand and the actual water supply in the city.

During his visit, Governor Awad bin Al-Wazir emphasized the importance of expediting the completion of the remaining technical and technological work, most notably connecting the new wells to the main water project system in Ataq. This will ensure optimal utilization of these vital resources and achieve water sufficiency that meets the daily needs of the population, especially in light of urban expansion and rapid population growth in the governorate center.
