The General Secretariat of STC Discusses Reports on Political and Economic Scenes in the Southern National Arena

The General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its regular meeting on Monday, in the capital, Aden, chaired by Mr. Mohammed Al-Shaqi, Assistant Secretary-General for Governorate and Coordination Affairs.
The meeting discussed the latest political developments in the southern national and regional arenas related to the issue of the people of the south during the first half of April. Most notable among these developments were the political situation in Hadhramaut Governorate and the continued US airstrikes against the terrorist Houthi group in recent days.
The meeting also addressed the economic and service conditions in the south during March 2025 and their impact on the lives of citizens. The report addressed the latest developments in the electricity situation in the capital, Aden, and the continued collapse of the local currency in light of the absence of solutions from the relevant authorities. It also addressed the impact of the influx of displaced persons to the southern governorates.
The meeting also reviewed a monitoring report on developments in the human rights situation in the southern governorates during the first quarter of 2025, most notably the denial of students’ rights to education, the deterioration of health services, and the absence of humanitarian aid.
The Secretariat reviewed the minutes of its previous meeting and approved them, taking into account the comments.
