Southern Media Authority urges media outlets to engage with “Hadhramaut First” Million-Man Event

The Southern National Media Authority held its regular meeting in the capital, Aden, chaired by Mr. Mukhtar Al-Yafei, Vice Chairman of the Authority.
The meeting discussed the role of media institutions affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council, and southern media in general, in engaging with the southern, regional, and international landscape, in addition to developments in the political, military, security, and service sectors.
In its meeting, the Authority called on media outlets to intensify media efforts and unify their discourse to ensure the success of the “Hadhramaut First” Million-Man March on April 24, which marks the ninth anniversary of the liberation of Mukalla and the Hadhramaut coast from Al-Qaeda and terrorist forces. The Authority emphasized the importance of drawing lessons from this southern national epic. The Authority also stressed the need to embody the unity of the southern ranks in media discourse, reflecting the cohesion of the South and the strength of its political leadership. This is in pursuit of realizing the hopes and aspirations of the southern people to build a federal southern state and confronting the schemes targeting this national project.
The Authority emphasized the importance of directing media efforts toward the real battle against the terrorist Houthi militia and highlighting the crimes and human rights violations they are committing against civilians. It called on southern media professionals to pay attention to the current challenges facing the South and work diligently toward institutional building for the future southern state.
The meeting concluded with a discussion of several media issues, and a series of necessary decisions and measures were taken.
