SMA NEWS – MUKALLA
Major General Ahmed Saeed Bin Brik, Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council, held an expanded meeting with Hadhrami women in Mukalla today, Monday, as part of his efforts to unify the voice of the people of Hadhramaut.
At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Ali Al Kathiri, President of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council; Fadi Baoum, Member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council; Brigadier General Saeed Al Mohammadi, Head of the Hadhramaut Transitional Executive; and Mohammed Abdul Malik, Head of the Wadi Transitional Executive, Major General Bin Brik conveyed the greetings of President Aidarous Al Zubaidi to the attendees.
Bin Brik explained that this meeting commemorates the ninth anniversary of the liberation of the Hadramaut coast from terrorist elements, and serves as a reminder of the importance of partnership with all components in shaping Hadramaut’s future. He noted that the governorate has been a model for liberated governorates in its cohesion, and that efforts are underway today to restore cohesion with greater organization and to eliminate any pretext for internationalizing the Hadramaut issue.
Bin Brik indicated that he met today with representatives of the Yemeni Congregation for Reform, as well as the Hadramaut Inclusive Conference, and will meet with other political components to develop the idea of transforming the Hadramaut Conference from a legal conference to a political one. He warned against those seeking to destroy the Hadrami elite and called on the attendees to commemorate the ninth anniversary of the liberation of the coast and support the Hadrami elite.
Before the meeting concluded, the floor was opened for discussion, and several constructive points were raised. Six women were then selected from among the attendees, in response to Major General Bin Brik’s call, to raise awareness of the causes of the problem in Hadramaut and develop proposals and solutions. A preparatory committee for the Hadramaut Political Conference was formed and its documents drafted.
