Arab Traffic Week Launches with Participation of Major General Al-Shaibi and Colonel Al-Qalaa in Aden the capital

The Aden Capital Security Department launched the 2025 Arab Traffic Week this morning at the Traffic Police Department headquarters in Khormaksar District, under the slogan: “Slow Down… Life is Ahead of You.”

During the launch ceremony, the Director of Aden Capital Security, Major General Mutahhar Al-Shaibi, delivered a speech in which he said:
“We are pleased to launch Arab Traffic Week today. We hope to continue our efforts together to strengthen the role of the traffic police. We have great confidence in you to work diligently to establish an integrated traffic system that keeps pace with the aspirations of society. This is an honor that the traffic police bear with pride.”

Major General Al-Shaibi also called for the need to seize unregistered and violating vehicles and to combat the phenomenon of underage children driving vehicles, given its importance in enhancing security and public safety in the capital, Aden.

He pointed out that the traffic police will implement strict security and traffic measures this week, particularly against vehicles without license plates, given the security threat they pose to citizens and the capital in general.

He praised the role of traffic police and their dedication to performing their duties despite the challenges, emphasizing the importance of engaging positively with citizens and not being lenient with traffic violators.

For his part, the Director of the Traffic Police in Aden, Colonel Adnan Al-Qalaa, explained that the activities of the Arab Traffic Week in the capital, Aden, which began today and will continue until May 10, include all of Aden’s districts and aims to correct incorrect behavior among drivers.

Al-Qalaa emphasized the importance of raising awareness, by posting awareness posters on the streets and using various media outlets to inform citizens of traffic violations and how to avoid them. He praised the support provided by the leadership of the Ministry of Interior and the local authorities to the traffic police in Aden at all times.

Interior Minister Major General Ibrahim Haidan had previously stated that Arab Traffic Week represents an important milestone in shedding light on the growing traffic challenges. He emphasized the need for concerted official and community efforts to reduce accidents and the human and material losses that burden the state and society.
