The General Secretariat of STC organizes a discussion session on legal protection for public and mixed sector employees in Aden

SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
The Legal Affairs and Human Rights Department of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council (ST) organized a discussion panel in the capital, Aden, on Thursday, entitled “Legal Protection for Public and Mixed Sector Employees.” The panel was attended by a number of legal and trade union specialists.
At the opening of the session, Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Shaqi, Assistant Secretary-General, stated that many laws and legislation related to the rights of public employees remain in the books, written without finding their way to actual implementation on the ground. This has led to the clear marginalization of the suffering and legitimate rights of employees in the south. He expressed his hope that this panel would produce practical and realistic recommendations that would contribute to restoring the status of employees and ensuring their full legal protection. He wished the outcomes of this important discussion every success.
The session featured the presentation of several important working papers, and included extensive interventions and discussions from attendees. These discussions focused on ways to activate laws, strengthen the oversight role of unions, and develop recommendations to be submitted to the political leadership and relevant authorities.
