Al-Kathiri gets briefed on prisons conditions in Aden the capital and liberated governorates

Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council and Chairman of the National Assembly, reviewed the conditions of the Prisons Authority in Aden and the liberated governorates and its basic needs. This came during his meeting on Thursday, with Major General Saleh Abdul Habib, Head of the Authority.
During the meeting, which was attended by Ahmed Qasim, Director of the Office of the Vice President of the Southern Transitional Council, Major General Ahmed Saeed Bin Brik, Al-Kathiri listened to a detailed explanation from Major General Saleh Abdul Habib about the conditions of the Authority and the challenges facing the work of central prisons in Aden and other liberated governorates due to weak operating budgets and scarce resources.
Al-Kathiri praised the efforts of the Prisons Authority leadership and its role in providing a reformative environment for detainees through rehabilitation, training, and awareness programs provided to prisoners, ensuring their integration into society. He affirmed the Southern Transitional Council’s support for all efforts made by the Authority’s leadership.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Al-Kathiri emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination between the Authority, public prosecution offices, courts, and local authorities to improve performance and services provided to prisoners in detention centers. This, in cooperation with relevant authorities and supporting organizations, will ensure their rehabilitation and provide them with life skills that will ensure their reintegration into society.
